Ralph Storrs, C.O., Dies

Ralph Storrs, CO, a renowned pioneer in the O&P profession and a past president of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA), died March 23 at the age of 82.

AOPA President David C. Schultz, CPO, called Mr. Storrs a dear friend of the orthotics and prosthetics field, noting that he "touched all who came to know him."

Noting that Mr. Storrs served as president of AOPA from 1960-61, Schultz said that he remained active in the field following his presidency. "He was a mainstay at the national meetings of the field and most recently attended the AOPA National Assembly in Phoenix this past October.

"His contributions to the field are too many to list. His words of wisdom, while given quietly, were always right on track and to the point of the issue," Schultz continued. "I was fortunate to receive some of those kind words when I first began my career.

"All of the staff of the AOPA office as well as members of the AOPA leadership are saddened by the loss of a true gentleman and a respected member of our field. His presence and contributions to the field will be missed by all."
