Rick Fleetwood, general manager and chief financial officer of Snell Prosthetic & Orthotic Laboratory, Little Rock, Arkansas, was elected to the United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCP) Board of Trustees at the organization's annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts, earlier this month. He was elected with actor William H. Macy and a slate of 13 other experts in the fields of healthcare, finance, law, public policy and philanthropy. Fleetwood, a long time community advocate for people with disabilities, is currently a board member of Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's State Rehabilitation Council. He has worked with Easter Seals, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Diabetes Association, CareLink, the Arkansas Disability Association and Arkansas Medicare Board. He previously served as vice chair of the UCP Interim Board of Trustees and is a recipient of UCP's prestigious Roger S. Firestone Award for volunteer service. "Rick and the new Board of Trustees represent an extraordinary spectrum of experience and influence, and UCP will be even stronger with these proven leaders at the helm," said Stephen Bennett, president and CEO of United Cerebral Palsy. "They are united in their dedication to protecting and advancing the independence and civil rights of all people with disabilities." A lifetime member of the Rehabilitation Counselors Association, Fleetwood continues to direct the growth of Snell Prosthetic & Orthotic Laboratory, where he has served for 28 years as general manager, chief operations officer, chief financial officer, and secretary-treasurer.
