Seattle Systems Inc., Poulsbo, Washington, recently donated
ShapeMaker software to the Kids First Mobility Clinic in central
Vietnam. Shirley Forsgren, former executive director of the
Prosthetics Outreach Foundation (POF), recently opened the new
Mobility Clinic in Dong Ha, Central Vietnam. The clinic will
utilize ShapeMaker’s CAD/CAM technology, valued at $4,995, to
provide unlimited shape modification when fitting prostheses to
young amputees. ShapeMaker version 4.4 is a shape manipulation
software package that helps prosthetists and technicians sculpt
digitized images of a patient’s limb to accurately create a
customized prosthetic device, according to Seattle Systems.
