As reported in the May 8 edition of the San Francisco
Chronicle, renowned dermatologist and clinical professor at
University of California San Francisco (UCSF), S. William “Bill”
Levy, MD, who specialized in the skin problems of amputees, died at
his home in Kentfield, California, May 6, at the age of 84,
following a brief illness. Born in 1920 in San Francisco, Dr. Levy
helped his family during the depression years by selling
newspapers.
