Reinertsen and Harsch Eliminated from The Amazing Race

Star amputee athlete Sarah Reinertsen and Peter Harsch, CP, were eliminated after arriving last at The Amazing Race 10's sixth Pit Stop in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

According to the CBS website, "In a stunning reversal of fortune against the blistering desert backdrop of Kuwait, last-place coal miner and wife David and Mary [Conley], with a little help from brothers Erwin and Godwin [Cho], vault into first place. First-place friends Peter and Sarah become hopelessly lost to eventually finish in last place, resulting in their elimination."

The Amazing Race 10's sixth episode began with the seven remaining teams departing Chettinad House, a Chennai, India royal palace that served as the Race's fifth Pit Stop, reported Steve Rogers on www.realitytvworld.com . "As they left the Pit Stop, the teams received a Treasure Hunters-like mobile phone video message in which The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan told the teams that they had to fly 2,400 miles to Kuwait City and then locate a group of unnamed spherical towers shown in the message."

More exciting details about the Emmy Award-winning reality show, with 12 teams of contestants chosen to race around the world in the tenth edition, can be found at www.cbs.com and www.realitytvworld.com

The show airs on Sundays at 8:00 PM Eastern and Pacific Time. The final episode will be shown December 10.

Reinertsen, 31, is the first amputee chosen to participate in The Amazing Race. Reinertsen, previously a marketing manager for Ossur North America, Aliso Viejo, California, is a member of Team Ossur, a group of elite amputee athletes sponsored by the company. She paired up for the show with good friend and former colleague Peter Harsch, CP, an Ossur prosthetist.

Challenge is not new to Reinertsen. She has medaled and broken records in the Paralympic Games, and in 2005 was the first female amputee to finish Hawaii's grueling Ironman triathlon. Harsch, 35, was a co-competitor, also completing the Ironman. She also recently was honored as the 2006 ESPY Award as Best Female Athlete with a Disability. In addition, Reinertsen is a spokesperson and advocate for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), Del Mar, California.
