President George W. Bush on November 13 vetoed the fiscal year
2008 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations
bill. Included in this bill was funding for the Amputee Coalition
of America’s (ACA) National Limb Loss Information Center, as well
as increased funding for biomedical research at the National
Institutes of Health and prevention programs at the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
