When Tony Barr, immediate past president of The Barr Foundation
and its Amputee Assistance Fund, suddenly passed away on March 5,
2007, the bereft foundation stepped out of the public eye to
recover and to rebuild its organization. Eighteen months later, on
September 12, the foundation held its annual board of directors’
meeting in conjunction with the American Orthotic & Prosthetic
Association (AOPA) conference in Chicago, Illinois, and elected the
following new officers and members to its board of directors:
