OPIE Software, Gainesville, Florida, and Orthocare Innovations, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, have entered into a cooperative agreement to integrate clinical-outcomes data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities from Orthocare technologies into the OPIE Electronic Medical Records software. Initially, the focus of the collaboration will be to incorporate the Compas™ system (Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System) functionality into OPIE.
“Payers are requiring data-driven, objective evidence in support of payment for O&P clinical care and technologies,” commented Orthocare CEO Doug McCormack. “By capturing clinical data from Compas, Smart Pyramid, and StepWatch directly into patient electronic medical records, this partnership will offer providers solutions to meet the demands of payers, while also improving clinical outcomes.”
“With over 600 O&P practitioners using OPIE for all of their clinical documentation, it makes perfect sense to integrate the Compas system directly into the workflow for optimum collection of outcomes data,” said Paul E. Prusakowski, CPO, FAAOP, CEO of OPIE Software.
