Cecil McMorris, CP, LP, founder of Lubbock Artificial Brace & Limb, Lubbock, Texas, has passed away. He was 77.
McMorris endured a bilateral transtibial amputation after an injury in the Korean Conflict, then went on to receive an education through the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois. According to his website, he began providing prosthetic care in 1962.
He leaves behind his wife; two daughters, Sheila McMorris Phillips and Theresa McMorris Strattan; and nine grandchildren. Phillips and Strattan are married to Kent Phillips and Keith Strattan, respectively, who co-own Lubbock Artificial Limb & Brace with Jason Philips, McMorris’ oldest grandson.
