Freedom Innovations, Irvine, California, has appointed Michael Katz as its European sales and marketing director. “Mr. Katz brings extensive European commercial experience in the orthotic and prosthetic market and will support our continued growth in Germany, France, Benelux, Italy, Scandinavia, and United Kingdom,” Gary Wertz, Freedom Innovations executive vice president, stated.

Katz will be based in the Netherlands and responsible for managing distribution channels, launching new products, and assessing the market needs in Europe. “Michael’s highly relevant experience will support our mission of assisting individuals with physical challenges in living life to the fullest.” Wertz added.
Prior to joining Freedom Innovations, Katz served as international sales manager for prosthetics at medi, Bayreuth, Germany, and as medi’s general manager in Belgium and general manager of orthotics and prosthetics in the Netherlands. He previously served as international sales director for USMC/Seattle Systems, later acquired by Trulife, Poulsbo, Washington. According to Freedom Innovations, during Katz’s career in healthcare, he also held key management positions with Harting-Bank BV, the Netherlands, and with Thuasne, a French orthopedics and supply company.
