Toshiki Kobayashi, PhD, has joined Orthocare Innovations, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as a research scientist at the company’s Seattle, Washington, research facility. Kobayashi received his PhD from the Department of Health Technology and Informatics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and is also a trained orthotics and prosthetics clinician who grew up in a third-generation private O&P practice. While at Hong Kong Polytechnic, Kobayashi’s doctoral research was focused on improving mobility through better lower-limb orthosis design.

According to Orthocare, Kobayashi’s most recent research paper, with co-authors Boone and Aaron Leung, PhD, has been nominated as Best Research Paper for the upcoming 2010 International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics (ISPO) World Congress in Leipzig, Germany.
