John Spragle has announced his retirement as president of VGM Insurance, Waterloo, Iowa.
“I am pleased to announce my retirement and VGM Insurance’s plan for my successor. Effective June 1, 2010, Tom Jones will be joining VGM Insurance as president, and effective July 1, 2010, I will be retiring from VGM Insurance.”
Jones brings to his new position expertise in the insurance field and familiarity with the durable medical equipment (DME) industry. “Tom earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and other designations while acquiring knowledge and experience in areas of insurance company management, sales, and claims adjusting,” according to a VGM Insurance press release.
“As I pass the baton to Tom, I feel very confident in his abilities,” Spragle said. “He has served as president of a mutual insurance company and has owned and operated an independent agency for many years.”
During Spragle’s 20-year tenure, he helped build the VGM Insurance into a “nationally-known leader in formulating and delivering insurance products…,” according to the company press release. “John exemplified great leadership and administrative skills that became the foundation for growth and evolution within the company that his successors will continue to build on.”
