The 2011 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championships to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand, officially opened its online entry system. National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) can now enter elite athletes who meet the eligibility criteria in medal events included in the championships program. Qualification rankings for these World Championships can be found on the IPC Athletics website. Registration will close at midnight on October 6, 2010 (Central European Time).
The opening ceremony for this ten-day, sixth world championship event will be held on January 21, 2011. Hundreds of athletes with disabilities are expected from around the world to compete in track and field events for one of the last major sports competitions before the London Paralympics in 2012.
