Dan Blasini, RN, BSN, BC-CM, clinical care manager at Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, San Antonio, Texas, was selected as a finalist in the Life Care Planner category for the first annual Dorland Health People Awards. All healthcare professionals were recognized for sharing their knowledge and skills to address challenges and meet the needs of their team, their patients, and their patients’ families. Blasini was selected for his use of clinical expertise in determining the lifetime needs of those faced with catastrophic/chronic conditions.
Blasini specializes in the rehabilitation of difficult cases of upper-limb loss at the national Upper Extremity Prosthetics Program at Hanger. He originally came to the profession after serving in the U.S. Army.
All finalists were recognized at an awards luncheon on October 4, 2010, at the National Press Club in Washington DC and will be featured along with the winners and other finalists in the October/November issue of the Dorland Health magazine, Case In Point.
