Knit-Rite, Kansas City, Kansas, announced the sale of its distribution business division to Cascade Orthopedic Supply, Chico, California. Effective November 1, 2010, Cascade will acquire O&P distribution operations from Knit-Rite, and Knit-Rite will focus completely on the textile manufacturing supply side of its business.
“For decades Knit-Rite has served the O&P profession in two businesses, with…our manufactured textile products and as a broad line distributor,” said Mark Smith, CP, Knit-Rite president and CEO. “By focusing on our textile manufacturing business, we will continue to respond to evolving clinical needs and advance textile solutions that promote mobility, protection, and comfort. We look forward to continuing to support practitioners in helping patients achieve the best quality of life possible.”
Smith added, “The manufacturing side of our business will be business as usual in the same location…. Several of both our customer service and sales teams are transitioning over to Cascade, which will help facilitate the customer transition, while other employees have been offered new positions at Knit-Rite.”

Knit-Rite stated that going forward, Knit-Rite brand products may be purchased through O&P distributors or directly from Knit-Rite.
