DJO Incorporated (DJO), San Diego, California, has changed its name to DJO Global, to recognize the completion of the integration of key operational and commercial activities in its global businesses. The integration allowed DJO Global to realize significant cost savings and upgrade its capabilities in sales, marketing and operations. A significant portion of this undertaking resulted when ReAble Therapeutics, Austin, Texas, acquired DJO and adopted the DJO name in 2007, according to a company press release.
“The integration efforts we have made in recent years have transformed DJO Global into a diversified medical-device provider that is one of the largest orthopedic rehabilitation companies in the world,” DJO Global President and CEO Les Cross said. “We are well positioned to take advantage of important trends developing in global healthcare markets. As pressure mounts to contain healthcare costs, effective treatment modalities that are more conservative and cost effective than traditional treatments will likely become more important. DJO Global’s medical devices are very well positioned for such treatment protocols across the continuum of patient care from prevention to recovery.”
