Trent Waggoner, an amputee from Indiana, has submitted a design to include the Amputee Coalition’s logo to Toyota Racing’s “Sponsor a Car” program. The design entry receiving the most votes will be placed on a NASCAR race car.
Waggoner’s Amputee Coalition design includes several facts about limb loss: two million Americans are now living with limb loss; 507 people lose a limb each day; and 60 percent of amputations (those due to diabetes and vascular-related disease) are preventable.
