The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF, the Foundation) has announced the appointment of the following individuals to its advisory board:
- Donald Katz, CO, LO, FAAOP, assistant administrator and orthotics practitioner at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, Texas.
- Michael Tompkins, vice president of technology development, Hanger Orthopedic Group, Austin, Texas.
- Donald Shurr, CPO, PT, director of education and director of special projects, American Prosthetics & Orthotics, headquartered in Clive, Iowa.
- Fran Varner Jenkins, vice president, Fillauer Companies, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Robert “Bob” Gailey Jr., PhD, PT, assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, Florida.
These individuals will join OPERF Advisory Board Chair C. Michael Schuch, CPO, FAAOP, Michael Schuch Consult Services, Raleigh, North Carolina, to help promote and grow the Foundation, according to OPERF’s website. The advisory board is responsible for helping to guide the Foundation and the OPERF board of directors in order to best serve the O&P profession and industry through the promotion of O&P education and research.
