The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the release of the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) Public Meeting Agenda for Orthotics & Prosthetics. The meeting is scheduled to take place June 7, 2011, at the CMS Auditorium, 7500 Security Boulevard, Baltimore (Woodlawn), Maryland, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
According to CMS, the meeting will “provide a forum for the general public to present information regarding specific HCPCS coding requests for new products, supplies, and services. The meeting also provides an opportunity to obtain industry and public reaction to the preliminary coding recommendations of the CMS HCPCS Workgroup, as well as CMS’ preliminary recommendations regarding payment methodology.” CMS notes, “Coding decisions related to the Medicare and Medicaid programs internal operating procedures are reviewed internally, and are not included in this forum.”
The agenda schedule , which includes the list of requests for new and revised L-Codes for orthotic and prosthetic devices, and the registration link are located on the CMS website. Meeting registration will close once the seating limit has been reached or on June 2, whichever comes first.
