The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) Annual Meeting clinical content committee has extended the submission deadline for abstracts of presentations for the 38th Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium, to be held March 21-24, 2012, in Atlanta, Georgia. The deadline is now Wednesday, August 31.
The Academy invites abstract submissions in the following categories:
- Thranhardt Lectures: Present the clinical, research, statistical analysis, results, and conclusions of an abstract.
- Free Papers: Offer solutions to common problems, patient and practice management techniques, innovative uses of technology, or current research findings.
- Poster Presentations: Provide an overview of a clinically relevant subject, where conclusions can be drawn, such as a case study, critical review of the literature, or a new technique.
The clinical content committee will review all abstracts as potential Thranhardt Lectures, unless the author indicates otherwise on the submission form. The committee will select the 2012 Thranhardt finalists and Free Paper presentations.
Abstracts must adopt the introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and conclusion (IMRD) format and must be submitted online using the submission template. Complete submission guidelines and samples of completed submission forms are available at www.academyannualmeeting.org
Poster presentations submission guidelines are available at www.oandp.org/meeting2012/abstracts_posters.asp. The poster submission deadline is September 30.
