The National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics & Prosthetics (NAAOP) has announced its new officers for the 112th Congress (2011-2012):
Paul Prusakowski, CPO, FAAOP, has been elected president. He is the owner of Gainesville Prosthetics and the president of O&P Digital Technologies, both located in Gainesville, Florida. He is the former secretary/treasurer of NAAOP, past president the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), founder and moderator of OANDP-L, and co-founder and director of the Digital Resource Foundation for the Orthotic and Prosthetic Community. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Atlanta, and St. Petersburg, Florida, O&P education programs.
David McGill, JD, has been elected vice president. McGill is the vice president of legal affairs and director of payer relations and legislative affairs for Össur Americas, Foothill Ranch, California. He is a former chairman of the board of the Amputee Coalition. Before joining Össur, McGill was the co-founder and executive director of a New York prosthetic facility, where he specialized in insurance reimbursement issues.
Kim Doolan has been elected secretary. She is the clinical coordinator for Allen Orthotics and Prosthetics, Midland, Texas, as well as a consultant for LIVINGSKIN™/Touch Bionics of Hilliard, Ohio. Doolan’s other professional experience includes helping author the book, Atlas of Amputations and Limb Deficiencies. She has written numerous articles for O&P publications, and has been a presenter at numerous O&P and medical conferences and conventions. Her volunteer efforts include serving as a former board member of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) and the Amputee Coalition.
Jim Rogers, CPO, LPO, FAAOP, has been elected treasurer. He is the managing practitioner for Pinnacle Orthotic and Prosthetic Services, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has a history of service to the O&P profession, including being a past president of the Academy. Rogers is a recognized clinical presenter at national and state meetings and also participates in the Advantage Program Les Cayes through Medical Teams International, providing O&P care to the citizens of Haiti.
