Nabtesco, Tokyo, Japan, and Proteor, St. Appolinaire, France, have announced their partnership in the United States. The new entity, Nabtesco Proteor – USA, is headquartered in Muskego, Wisconsin.
Nabtesco specializes in manufacturing motion control equipment for many sectors of the transportation and assistive-device industries. Nabtesco has been active in the research and development of microprocessor knees for more than 26 years.
Proteor has been in existence in the international O&P field for almost 100 years. It owns more than 40 patient care centers throughout France and is also responsible for the research, development, design, and manufacturing of its own product line.
As part of the Nabtesco Proteor – USA expansion, Leslie Roberts, CP, MSS, has been hired as its clinical and technical services manager. In her new role, Roberts will head the companies’ clinical education efforts, work with national distributors, and conduct workshop and continuing-education unit (CEU) courses. She will also attend national trade shows and strive to ensure proper coding of all products. Foremost, Roberts will act as the companies’ primary contact in the United States.
Roberts completed her prosthetics studies at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, in 2005. Since that time, she has worked in both patient care and manufacturing.
“This position marks an important moment in my career…,” Roberts said. “Until this point, these companies have not had a consistent voice to educate U.S. practitioners. I’m excited to be that voice.”
