The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has launched the first official website of the Oceania Paralympic Committee (OPC), www.oceaniaparalympic.org
The website launch is part of the IPC’s overall digital strategy to develop a greater online presence for its members over the coming years. Other sites will be developed and launched by the ICP this year.
The goal of the OPC is to help cultivate and develop the Paralympic Movement in nine countries, including: Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. The new website includes information regarding the regional council’s member countries, and the athletes and sports it supports. In addition, the site has news and feature articles, images, and videos. It also includes information regarding the IPC and the Paralympic Games, as well as matters relating to anti-doping and Paralympic Sport classification.
“Over the coming years the IPC aims to work closely with our members to provide them with the relevant tools that can help them grow awareness of the Paralympic Movement in their country or territory,” said Craig Spence, IPC media and communications director.
