The Amputee Coalition has been awarded a three-year Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant for the support of its National Public Health Practice & Resource Center on Health Promotion for People with Limb Loss & Limb Difference Disabilities (also known as its National Limb-Loss Resource Center).
The requirements related to individuals with amputations for this competitive grant were:
- Reducing disparities in key health indicators and obesity in children, youths, and adults with disabilities.
- Identifying and reducing disparities in healthcare access for people with disabilities.
The Amputee Coalition will use the grant to implement strategies, programs, and services that will positively impact the health and well-being of individuals with amputations.
