Special Opportunities in Advanced Rehabilitation (SOAR) hosted a First Dance clinic on April 29 at the Elegance in Motion Dance Studio, Lake Orion, Michigan. The clinic saw individuals with amputations, wheelchair users, and stroke survivors all working together to “cut a rug” and “get their groove on” during the three-hour clinic, according to an OPAF press release. This is the second year in a row that SOAR has hosted a First Dance clinic and the fifth First Clinic that has been hosted by SOAR.
First Dance was also filmed this year by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) crew of A Wider World, which premiered on May 15 in the Detroit, Michigan, market and will be seen on various PBS channels across the country. The video is also posted on the OPAF website.
