Ottobock, Duderstadt, Germany, was honored as the top family business in Europe during the CampdenFB Families in Business Awards in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on July 9. The award was accepted by Professor Hans Georg Nader, president and CEO of Ottobock, whose grandfather founded the company in 1919.
CampdenFB, an international business magazine, honored the best family businesses and individuals that contributed to the European economy in the following categories: top family business, top family business leader, top family next-gen leader, top non-family chief executive, and top sustainable family business. Family businesses make up about 60 percent of all European companies and account for 40-50 percent of employment in the region.
