The Barr Foundation has announced the addition of two new board members, Chad Crittenden and Jen Lacey, who were elected December 18 to serve a one-year term. They are also on the foundation’s marketing committee.
Crittenden graduated from the University of California at Davis majoring in international relations and Spanish. In 2002, he was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma and underwent a transtibial amputation of his right leg. Crittenden was a contestant on the ninth season of CBS’s television show Survivor, which premiered in September 2004. He is a motivational speaker and involved with the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
Lacey has a degree in psychology and an extensive background working with nonprofit organizations. She is a transtibial amputee having had the Ertl Procedure in 2011, ten years after the motorbike accident that damaged her left ankle. She currently works as a regional coordinator for the Amputee Empowerment Partners. Lacey’s main focus is advocacy, mentoring, and offering support to new amputees.
“We are very pleased that [Chad and Jen] have joined the board and look forward to working with them,” said Eva Hughes, secretary of The Barr Foundation.
