Sveinn Sölvason has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) of Össur Reykjavik, Iceland, and will become a member of the executive management team. He replaces Hjörleifur Pálsson, who held the position for 12 years. The management change takes effect April 30.
Sölvason, who has experience in the banking and finance industry, joined Össur in 2009 as director of treasury, corporate development, and investor relations. He holds a master’s degree in finance and accounting (Cand.Merc.FIR) from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. Prior to joining Össur, Sölvason worked in business development at Marel, Gardabaer, Iceland.
“[Sölvason] brings with him extensive expertise in the field and has been a valuable member of the management team in (sic) Össur for four years,” commented Jón Sigurðsson, president and CEO. “I’m excited to work with him in his expanded role and having him on the executive management.”
