The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched a new instrument for 2013 called the Medicare Administrative Contractor Satisfaction Indicator (MSI). The MSI is a tool that measures Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) providers’ satisfaction with the Medicare claims administrative contractor(s) that serve them. According to CMS, this measuring tool will provide the best opportunity for providers to rate their satisfaction with their Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs). The input will be used to help MACs to improve the services that they offer. Participation is voluntary, but registration is required to be considered to take the MSI. A random sample will be drawn from the registry. Registration opened July 8 and is only available for a limited time.
