The International Child Amputee Network (I-CAN) has announced that Sami Madden, a 21-year-old undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, Tucson, has been elected president of the organization. I-CAN promotes education, support, information, and empowerment to children with congenital or traumatic amputations and their families.
Madden, who has a congenital quadruple amputation, said that in his new role as president of I-CAN, he hopes to continue increasing awareness of kids with limb differences and in helping those kids realize their potential, according to an article in the Arizona Daily Star.
