The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) and its test development and implementation partner, Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP), Olathe, Kansas, recently convened a group of experts to collaborate on the BOC pedorthist job task analysis (JTA). JTAs, typically conducted every five to seven years, are detailed studies of the job activities of a profession and provide the basis for the development of certification examinations. The expert group was made up of BOC-certified practitioners, educators, BOC-accredited facility representatives, and other medical professionals, including a physician.
During the meeting, the JTA group created a survey that will be sent to as many as 5,000 pedorthists and other healthcare professionals in July. After receiving the survey responses, the results will be compiled and used to update the exam’s content outline to ensure it reflects the current practice in pedorthics.
