CGS, the Jurisdiction C Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC), announced that it now offers an online claim denial explanation tool, called MR WIZARD (Medical Review Wizard). The tool provides claim line-specific information, including the following:
- Date of service.
- Supplier National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code billed.
- Number of services.
- Submitted charge.
- Detailed information on what caused the denial.
- Denial-specific education and information.
MR WIZARD also provides the user with links to information and education specific to his or her particular denial.
