Paralympian Richard Browne shaved three-tenths of a second off of his own 200-meter T44 (single, transtibial amputation or athletes who can walk with moderately reduced function in one or both legs) world record on September 5 at the Memorial Van Damme Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Belgium. He crossed the finish line in 21.62 seconds, 0.29 faster than the world record he set April 18, at Mount SAC Relays in Walnut, California. With a time of 21.91, Browne becomes the first person with a unilateral transtibial amputation to run under 22 seconds.
