Several media outlets have reported that a pipe bomb explosion that damaged a Tennessee O&P facility July 5 is linked to a competitor.
Federal agents have arrested Christopher Alexander, BOCPO, who has an ownership interest in Alexander Prosthetics & Orthotics, Kingsport, Tennessee. Alexander was arrested for being in possession of a pipe bomb and is a suspect in an investigation into the bombing of the Johnson City, Tennessee, location of Victory Orthotics & Prosthetics. According to Tennessee’s News Channel 11, Victory O&P owner Zach Smith, BOCPO, and Alexander worked together about 15 years ago and Smith said they parted “in different ways, regarding business practice.”
A preliminary hearing for Alexander has been scheduled for July 15.
