Össur, Reykjavik, Iceland, announced it purchased 2,465,000 if its own shares, or about 0.6 percent of the company’s total share capital, on NASDAQ Copenhagen at a price of DKK 22.20 per share in local currency. The total purchase amount was DKK 54,723,000 or about US $8 million.
Össur announced its intent to buy back shares on October 28. The purpose of the share buy-back is to adjust the capital structure by distributing capital to shareholders in line with the company’s capital structure and dividend policy. A proposal to decrease the share capital will be submitted at the annual general meeting in 2016 as a result of this transaction.
