Noridian Healthcare Solutions (NHS), Fargo, North Dakota, has been awarded the Jurisdiction A Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC) contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The contract period for the new award includes a base year and four one-year renewal option years, with a total value of more than $90.9 million.
Under the contract, NHS will administer Medicare claims from suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Jurisdiction A accounts for about 18 percent of the national Medicare durable medical equipment (DME) claims volume. NHIC, Hingham, Massachusetts, currently administers the contract.
NHS holds four other MAC contracts: The DME Jurisdiction D contract, the two Medicare Part A/Part B contracts for Jurisdictions E and F, and the national Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding contract.
