Ottobock UK, Twickenham, England, announced that Scope Rehab Healthcare, Innishannon, Ireland, has joined the Ottobock family.
Scope Rehab was established in 1990 and has seen considerable growth since that time, according to an Ottobock press release. Now, after 26 years of building and managing the company, Andries de Bont, founder and director of Scope Rehab and a prosthetist-orthotist, is winding down his position in the business. “Scope Rehab’s secret of success was based on delivering top-quality prostheses and orthoses and a fast and excellent service. Keeping that in mind, Ottobock was for us the natural first choice for a partner,” he said.
Ottobock said the company is determined to ensure a smooth handover and the continuation of a high-quality level of service to patients and the Health Service Executive, which provides health and social care services to everyone living in Ireland. Scope Rehab will continue in its current format, said Pernille Thomsen, media and communications executive with Otto Bock Healthcare, Egham, England.
