Wilmington Orthotics & Prosthetics, North Carolina, owned by Mariska Truesdale, PT, CPOA, CFom, has received the Coastal Entrepreneur Award for healthcare. Opened in 1992, the company provides orthotics, prosthetics, post-mastectomy products, and physical therapy, as well as performs all fabrication on site.
The Coastal Entrepreneurship Awards is a joint effort between the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Greater Wilmington Business Journal to identify and recognize businesses that have the potential to make a significant impact on the region.
“As a physical therapist, I realized the need in the community for a combination of physical therapy and orthotics/prosthetics,” Truesdale told the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.
One of the ten category winners will be named the 2016 Coastal Entrepreneur of the Year on May 24.
