The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) announced that it is distributing $3.7 million in grants to 2,098 challenged athletes in 32 countries. The grants are funded by CAF’s Access for Athletes program, which provides financial assistance for adaptive sports equipment, training, and competition expenses for athletes of all ages and abilities.
The grant distribution is the largest in the organization’s 23-year history, an increase from 1,709 grants totaling $3.5 million that were awarded in 2015. CAF will host a Grant Night Celebration on May 25 to present grants to local athletes.
