Robert C. Manfredi Sr., 79, of Rumson, New Jersey, passed away on March 16.
Manfredi founded Manfredi Surgical and Orthopedics in Long Branch, New Jersey, in 1958, and remained its owner until 2003. He was a graduate of the New York University O&P program and served as chairman of the New Jersey Orthotics and Prosthetics Board of Examiners, and of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics. As an ambassador for the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association, Manfredi traveled to China to help improve O&P care.
He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, was president of the United Cerebral Palsy of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and was a member of the Long Branch Lions Club.
Manfredi is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Cindy, Richard, and Robert Manfredi Jr., CPO/L, who owns the company his father founded, now called Manfredi Orthotic Prosthetic Affiliates, in Eatontown and Toms River, New Jersey; and a great-grandson.
