APEX and Diabetic shoes

Doug Wacker

Thank you goes to all who either emailed or called regarding APEX and
Diabetic shoes. Seems I am not the only one having troubles with APEX.
Below are the responses I received regarding Diabetic shoes. Thank you to
everyone. I hope this helps us out in the future of our patients.

Responses:
You could try Miami Leather to see if they have Aetrex shoes in stock.
You can’t beat Drew Shoes for quality and service.
Running into the same situation. The answers I have heard is that Covid
ran through their warehouse pretty badly and put them off schedule for
about a month, but its been awhile. Told my rep I have to change to Dr
Comfort. I also order Apis shoes as well. Told Apex when they get back online
with filling orders, I will buy from them again.

We are finally starting to receive orders from Apex again. We had several
pairs that took about 3 months to receive. Apparently, they had several
cases of Covid in the warehouse and had to close things down for a bit.
They are operational again, but at a limited capacity.

Same here. I’m afraid they are on their way out

They are closed for Chinese New Year.

I’ve been going through SPS to get answers to my APEX orders.
Lots of B.O. shoes from them. Dr. Comfort has nice shoes. SUREFIT does too.

They have apparently moved their fabrication to a new state. As of right
now everything we have on order is on back order until May. We order our
Apex shoes through Pel.

For me they were unavailable the entire month of December. I finally got a
call back in January, after leaving several messages through their phone
and online portal. They told me many models we’re backordered for months.
No explanation of why they weren’t able to communicate. Spoke to someone at
Cascade who was having the same problem and said you’d better go elsewhere
for now.

Please post any responses. This is alarming. We typically use Pedlite,
Surefit, Apis/Mt. Emey, or Dr. Comfort.

We use Dr Comfort at the VA in Dallas.

We quit using Apex and Dr. Comfort and are now using Apis and Pilgrim
shoes. Apis has the special sizes and Pilgrim have a nice selection to
compliment Apis.

*We have been providing only Drew Shoes over the past few years. They are
a bit more expensive for us, the provider which means less profit, but they
are superior grade shoes and the patients are happy and never
complain. * *Also,
Drew has excellent customer service.*

Same here sorta, our buyer told me that they went to a new phone system and
it’s terrible and in addition if you want CS it’s all done through email
now.

We are having the same issue with Apex. We have finally got a hold of them.
We asked if we can order online, but nope. They did say you can fax your
order in and if you provide on email they will send you a confirmation. But
we don’t like that method because they don’t share if shoes are available
or not. Because of these issues we are limiting our orders with them.
We use Drew, Apis, Dr Comfort.
