Quad TT/TR Suspension

T Wright

Hi OANDP-L

I have a patient that is a bilateral transtibial-bilateral transradial
amputee. We are in the process of evaluating for new lower extremity
prostheses. One of the goals is to allow the person to independently
don/doff the transtibial prostheses. The current design incorporates
roll-on liners which they cannot use independently. We have trialed
supracondylar suspension with a foam liner but, although we have achieved
independent donning/doffing, we have not been able to achieve the same
level of socket comfort as the old sockets. Are there other styles of
suspension that you have seen on quad amputees to facilitate independent
use of their devices?

Thanks,

Tara Wright, CPO
