Re: Rolling Silicone *Responses*

Christopher Smith

Here are the responses I received as I had multiple people also interested
in the answers:

-Problem in US is too much labor and expense and no reimbursement.
-Talk with a tech at touch bionics. They roll silicon liners
-Not worth it, 44 years of lab experience
-You should contact Stephan Knauss at Aesthetic Prosthetics in Pasadena
-Try calling touch bionics or new wave prosthetics in Ohio. They do a lot
for UE prosthetics
-I can suggest you contact Mr. Stefan Knauss, MAMS,CPO about silicone
“rolling”, the “silicone roller”equipment, and technique. The “O&P EDGE”
recently featured an article he authored about silicone techniques for a
trans-radial socket.

For what it’s worth, I have reached out to Stefan Knauss and he seemed very
open to discussing the topic. There is also a class at Spokane Falls CC
that he is putting on that is now full, but he said there will be another
one in June.

Thank you everyone for your input.
