Re: Sam Hamontree passing

Re:Sam Hamontree
Although I did not know Sam Hamontree personally, I knew the legend of this “old timer” (like myself). I never heard a bad comment about this man. I’m sure that some of the composite knowledge of my professional life as a prosthetist orthotist came from him or his associates. Sam will be missed greatly by all of us who practice prosthetics and orthotics and have striven daily to meet the needs of persons with disabilities including those with limb loss! John G. Craig, CPO/LPO (Tx)

He was always willing to interact with any of us who were willing to listen. He was always willing to share his enormous wealth of knowledge in practically every aspect of our profession. May he now rest in piece and may his family rest assured that we all will miss him and that we all thank him for his many years of service!

Most specifically, the vision he shared for a strong, state business association in California – COPA. Sam was one of COPA’s founding (also known as – funding) members/leaders. The work he began on behalf of the business of O&P, to benefit patients was unrelenting and continues.
