Responses to Unilateral CTEV management & ADM

Nerida Hopkins-Arnold

Hi everyone,

I only received two responses to my query about unilateral CTEV management in older children who won’t wear boots & bar, and specifically requesting experiences with the ADM. One of the responses was asking me to share the replies.

The other response stated: CTEV management with custom made anti virus AFO and instep pulling strap.

If anyone has any further input it would be greatly appreciated…

Original post asked:

I am interested in hearing about folks’ management of unilateral CTEV in older children (4-5 year olds) who have relapsed and who now refuse to wear boots and bar.

I am particularly interested to hear about anyone’s experience with the ADM, as I have a referrer keen to utilize it.

I am also interested to hear what other approaches are being taken. Do you utilise an off-the-shelf device, custom AFO (with or without adjustable elements), custom KAFO (with or without adjustable elements)? Something else?

What do you like about the method you utilize and what difficulties have you perhaps had with it (or other approaches)?

Thanking you in advance for your responses.

Warm regards,
