Hello everyone,
Looking for input on a difficult case. Pt is a 66 y/o male, 6’3″ 260lbs, s/p R TKA 3 times. Pt’s function is severely affected because of severe medial and lateral knee pain with ambulation. MD has suggested TFA. Currently he is limited to 50 ft and cannot handle 4 stairs to get into his camper due to the pain. Prior to TKA he was an avid golfer. I’m thinking of a quad socket, thigh lacer KAFO to transfer the weight onto the thigh and pelvis. I’m looking for input on design especially upright suggestions since this will be my first encounter with a device of this magnitude.
Knee: locked or unlocked?
Footplate/stirrup attachment?
