Wide Prosthetic Foot

TJ Daley, CO

I have a patient who is from Burma and his main complaint from all of his
prostheses is that his prosthetic foot is much narrower than his anatomical
foot as it measures about 10 cm in width and 23 cm in length.

The prosthetic foot shell moves a lot inside of every shoe that he wears due
to this difference. I have “stuffed” his prosthetic side inside of the show
to decrease this motion, but I was hoping for any suggestions or input
regarding this problem as I can completely understand why he dislikes/feels
uncomfortable on the prosthetic side due to the width difference.
