Hello all,
We have a patient with EXTEME edema. Each leg from the knee down weighs
approx. 25 lbs. The patient is able to walk with just the use of a cane but
has no shoes that will withstand any type of bad weather. He currently wears
what is basically a pair of socks. He would like something very light weight
and something that fits like a boot since he has no definition in his foot
or ankle to allow for a low top.
I would like to know if any of you have had experience with any custom shoe
manufacturer that will really do a TRULY custom job. So far I’m finding that
the custom shoe manufacturers will only do custom based on their styles that
are already offered. This won’t work for this patient!
