Ehlers-Danlos HKAFO

UW P&O

Hello list-serve

We have a patient with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and we are having trouble
finding the right bracing solution for her.

Her left side has foot drop, an unstable and weak knee, and no hip flexion.
She currently walks with a cane or a walker for long distances, and drags
her forefoot continually. We trialed a KAFO but it was unsuccessful. We
are now considering an HKAFO.

*A practitioner at this office remembers seeing an HKAFO with an extension
assist in the form of a dial, but cannot recall the manufacturer or name of
the device. Does anyone have any idea where we can find this brace? *

Her right side also has weakness especially in the knee, and she walks with
a little bit of recurvatum on that side.

Any ideas on bracing solutions for this patient would be greatly
appreciated.
