Good Morning all,
I am looking to see what SCO have been
utilized with the best results. I have a patient using a Horton SCO for over
five years with great success. He is uses it every day walking at work and
in the community. Having a mechanical understanding of the function and
design of his brace better than most orthotists and highly motivated to
maintain his level of function. He is looking for a new brace/design. We
know that he does great in this design but looking to improve on shoe wear
and less maintenance. The joints are becoming worn and requires more and
more tinkering to maintain the function of the device. He really likes his
current design which is a prepreg solid ankle double upright. We discussed
many of the designs that are available and probably want to stay with a
solid ankle design as he likes the ground reactive force that it gives him.
E knee is something he is most curious about. I would like to hear pros and
cons of the designs used in the community. I will post responses. Thanks!!
